Default Alltrax amperage draw and hill speed

Hi all so I have a 2015 precedent with new batteries alltrax controller and 2 gauge wires + upgraded high torque motor ,, seems better than stock but won’t go up a steep hill no faster than a rental cart when hooked up to computer to monitor throttle position is good and amp draw is around 195amps not sure if it can draw more or not seems to go a lot faster on flat ground than it did but for a $700 motor I was expecting a little more for hills

What is the new motor you just installed? You probably need to make a few change in your Alltrax, especially you will need a new field map.

Where did you buy the controller and motor?

Like Walter said, need to check and make sure you have the right field map for that motor. If it’s not the right one it will burn the motor up.

Then next is to check the voltage drop of the batteries when its under load.
Low voltage will always mean higher current draw, and slower speeds.
Brand new batteries do need some time to build capacity, they may come fully charged, but not full capacity. The capacity builds as they break in over the course of 15-20 charge cycles.

There are also likely some settings in the Alltrax that can be changed to help with hill power and overall current draw. I'd suggest talking to ScottyB about what can be changed there since he knows the software setup.

One more thing I thought of. You may have got the wrong motor. You stated you have a high torque motor and what you really need is a speed motor.
