Default Help with back up camera

Hi, I just purchased a Dohonest back up camera for my 18 Precident, iT is the wired version, the instructions tell you to use the back up light circuit to switch it on when you select reverse in a car or truck, has anyone done their own aftermarket back up camera? Would I use the reverse horn? What is the best way to hook it up? Thank you In advance

If it was mine , i would have it on a switch so i could have it on when i wanted to see what was behind me , not just when backing up ... but never really had an issue on a cart as far as backing up and visibility...

You could parallel a 48v relay with the backup buzzer. Is this an automotive camera with the sonar to warn you of anything in the way or just a camera?

I have one on my 2017 CC, never cared for any of the mirrors so I installed this it had the option to remove the parking lines I leave it on all the time it’s hooked to my 12 V converter so it works off the key and it’s it’s own accessory. Here’s a couple pics

It is just a backup camera, i wonder if i can piggy back it to the reverse buzzer to turn on the camera when I go in reverse, would anyone know what vol5age the reverse buzzer is? I am imagining the circuit to turn on the camera is 12 volts as this thing is made for cars and trucks.

Thank you, so you have to switch it on and off? Or does the reverse buzzer circuit turn it on when 6ou put the cart in reverse?

All of the cart wiring is 48v so any input into the camera will have to come from your reducer.
You could use a 48v relay paralleled off of the reverse buzzer to trigger 12v from your reducer to turn it on.

Personally I would just wire it to be on all the time, or have a separate switch for it.

We have a minivan at work that has a button to engage the sideview camera when you're driving, and I turn that thing on all the time just for fun.

Cart buzzer circuit is 48 volts so can’t hook it up directly but you could use a relay to switch the power for the camera

Edit FT beat me too it
