Default How to find out how A, B, C, D on diagram relates to direction selector

Hi team,
We have a 1996 5 passenger cart with a Curtis 1204/5 controller. And someone from this great community gave us a link to the manual.
I'm still stuck figuring out how the direction selector correlates to the diagram?

Any help appreciated
If pics don't upload will do that separately

If the switch mounts to the floor of the cart on the passenger side, as in a TXT, then it is A at the bottom, and B, C, D, in a clockwise manner. If the switch mounts in the middle under the seat, as in a Marathon, then it is A at the top, and B, C, D, in a clockwise manner. A and C are always opposite each other across the switch and B and D are always opposite each other across the switch.

Thank you so much sthreat.
For explaining that so clearly. Ours was mounted under the seat in the middle where your legs are.
Would you have any does why the diagram I have shows the ABCD in an anti clockwise way?

If A is at the top then it was wired wrong when they bought it. Bit confusing. Because on the chart it says A should go to A2 on the controller. And C goes to M- and it was the opposit.

And also B and D are swaped. Unless the anti clockwise chart has some validity. Then they are fine and I just switch A and C. (My Red goes to M- and White goes to A2 currentl).

I'm just thinking where to put a really good fuse before we put the new batteries in.

The way the switch is designed, as long as A and C are opposite each other, and B and D are opposite each other, the switch will work. The only issue you may encounter is that the cart may run forward in the reverse position. That can be easily corrected by switching the cables on B and D. Whether you wire it clockwise or counterclockwise changes nothing except B and D. Doesn't matter.
It's hard to go wrong. You can even put A on the right side and C on the left side, with B and D on the top and bottom, the switch will still work. If the cart runs forward in the reverse position, switch B and D on the switch, or, if cable length or positioning is a problem with switching, then just switch S1 and S2 on the motor, same thing.

Two of those wires are way too close together for my taste.. A slight move and you would have an immediate issue..
