Default I think I have a bad V-Glide, but...

I have 2000 Club Car DS 48v and I believe I have a "bad" V-Glide. All the symptoms: staggering on a grade in particular. On a flat surface, it zooms. However have noticed that after running cart (after getting staggering behavior on slope) the dash light comes on. Batteries are good. What else could it be before I spring for a replacement V-Glide?

More info: opened v-glide, though the "arm" is flush on the pads, I did have to adjust linkage so arm could reach furthest pad. Still impossible to get up a grade. Any help would be appreciated.

Is the cart series or is it the late Regen2?
Regen 2 will have a Tow/Run switch under the seat.

Lots of things will cause shuddering or jerky feeling. Can't really say what it might be without knowing for sure what drive system you have.

What's your battery pack voltage 12 hours after a charge? What is the pack voltage when the light comes on?
The light is triggered by the OBC when the pack voltage reaches a certain low point. If there is one battery failing or you have a bad connection you will get similar symptoms.
Nothing in the V-glide will cause the battery light to come on.

Thanks. Does not have a "tow" switch. Pack voltage after sitting for 12 +hrs 50.2. Light now doesn't want to come on, will measure when it does. Any chance the speed sensor could cause behavior described?

You have a big lever for FnR?
If so, its a Series cart and does not have a speed sensor.
50.2 is pretty low. Need to check the pack voltage after it has been driven a little while, and especially check it when it starts to act up. It's best if you connect the meter with alligator clips and monitor the pack while driving.
Also check voltage of each battery individually and see which, if any, are lower than the rest.

OK, feel like an ***... bottom line is all batteries "at rest" are 9.x except one which is 6.7! I remember (like an acid flashback) that years ago I had a single battery in a two year old pack go south. I replaced that one battery and that pack lasted another three-ish years. So I only replaced 5 and kept the "good" one, which then lasted about another three years -- today. So, I am assuming that one bad battery would cause this -- when I'm on the level, no problem, but a hill (my driveway) cause that shuddering?

Yeah. One bad battery chokes the whole pack. Doesn't matter what the others have, no more energy gets through other than what the bad one will allow. Its like running a 4 lane highway full of traffic down to 1 lane. It's gonna back up.
