Input Shaft Oil Leak
I pulled the motor on my 2005 TXT to find the source of oil leak. Please take a look at the attached Pic. Am I correct in assuming the leak is coming from the input shaft (Not the vent below) and is likely cause by bad O'Rings?
Appreciate your thoughts. Thanks, Mike |

Re: Input Shaft Oil Leak
That is where it looks to be coming from. There is not an O-ring there but should have a press in seal

Re: Input Shaft Oil Leak
I apologize for the bad info. I was rushing out the door yesterday and did not pay attention. There is in fact an o-ring that seals against the bearing inside the housing. I do not have the part numbers but will look and post when I find it or maybe one of the experts on here already has it.

Re: Input Shaft Oil Leak
I found the O'Ring that sits in the channel behind the C clip channel. Is there a press seal that I should also be adding? There are no other seals on the input shaft that I can identify on my '05 TXT.

Re: Input Shaft Oil Leak
You can probably get by without it. I have a 2003 TXT and when I changed out my input shaft it did not have one and I did not put one in. I have had no issues so far. I did buy one but forgot to put it in before I put the motor on. I have the part number at home and can send it to you tomorrow if you want.

Re: Input Shaft Oil Leak
Hello,
This is my first post here, but wanted to share with all the P/N of what I used for a suitable O-ring for the input shaft on EZGO TXT axles. This is the O-ring that fits in the groove and not in-between the snap ring and bearing. The ring specs are I/D: 1-13/16 inch O/D: 2 Inch Width: 3/32 inch I found mine at advance auto for $1.09 and below is the link https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...1331/3490882-P If you don't have advance auto near you, Doorman supplies the O-ring as P/N 641331.1 https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-82054-641331.aspx Additionally I found them on e-bay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/193622207261 Hope this helps somebody as it took me 3-4 hours or research to figure this out. |
