Default Motor bumper and Navitas AC motor?

I searched and could not find this but swear I’ve seen it asked and answered.

When installing Navitas 5KW AC motor do you need to put the little motor bumper on the transaxle splines before putting the motor on?

I can’t find a clear answer?

Motor bumper? I just installed this kit on my '14 ezgo txt. I just pulled the old motor off and threw the new one on.

Spline bumper is actually what it’s called.

Goes on the motor splines in between the motor and transaxle.

There was a spline bumper used with the stock motor, so it ought to be used with the aftermarket motor whether the aftermarket motor is an AC, SepEx or Series motor.

The purpose of the spline bumper is to prevent the armature from making ever so slight movements in and out of motor case, creating noise.

Cut a chunk off a rubber mat and put it in. I have an old TXT floor mat that works perfectly.
