I've looked in all the suggested places per yamaha and have come up empty handed. Is it a plate or is it stamped in the metal some where. By the way it's a G11...just want to figure out what year. Have some pictures up in my profile if that will help any.

Pictures would really help. The serial # tag can be in several places on G11's. Try just forward of the battery. Or after looking at your pictures, on the driverside, between the rubber cowel cover and the storage area,check for a serial# there.
