to get that primary clutch off you can put 2 pry bars between( one on either side of the clutch) the clutch and the block put the bolt back in loosely and pull on the bars and tap the head of the bolt and it should pop off ....warning be gentle when pulling on the pry bars :)

you trying to make a point ....as a mechanic I never give up on a job because of not having the right tool theres always something to make do with

Well when he breaks the sheave on his $ 350.00 dollar clutch
Will you pay for it?

It is fun to work out problems in the shop but some times you have to pony up for the correct tool.

I have pulled over 2 thousand clutches in my life time some to re ramp in less than 5 mins and I will never pry on a clutch PERIOD.

Gentle is when my zipper is being pulled up. Gentle prying will not remove a clutch: and then the real leaverage starts and Oh crapola is heard.

Just noticed he has a G16/G22 Comet clutch on that older style block? Also noticed that engine case had been off before, See the case gasket (sticking out higher than the cases just under the cylinder fin's), thats the new style.
