G-16 Lift / Clutch questions
I stumbled accross and purchased a 2001 G16 with a lift installed.
A few questions. 1. Will the angle of the engine (oil) be a problem with the lift? about 5" lift. 2. Is there a way to slow down the cart a little at the low end, Seems like the slowest it will go is about 10 mph without cutting the pedal back to where the ignitions shuts off and on. Very happy with the cart so far. Thanks |

Re: G-16 Lift / Clutch questions
Angle shouldn't really be a problem with a 5" lift. Just make sure you don't overfil the oil. 1 quart of 10w30 only. I would recommend getting the torque kit for this cart as well. It is the best and least expensive mod on these carts.

Re: G-16 Lift / Clutch questions
You don't need it. That's the first thing I remove on mine. Just be mindful of your rpms and keep your oil changed regularly: its very simple, 17 mm drain plug, no filter, and one quart of oil which is very inexpensive.

Re: G-16 Lift / Clutch questions
Thanks Ron, I didn't catch all the second part there. Yep, sounds like the throttle cable is out of adjustment and has the throttle open on the carb. Probably backfires some when letting off the pedal if this is the case.

Re: G-16 Lift / Clutch questions
The only one I can comment on is the spring/spacer only torque kit from CPP. It is the one I use on all my Yamaha's. Works really well.
