Throttle Control
I need to get more throttle control. I need to have more low speed control for an upcoming parade. Right now when I press the gas it starts and jumps to speed that’s fine for me but my wife will be driving the cart in the parade and I’m concerned. I have very little throttle control full speed to stop I can feather the gas but that’s me and my wife will not do that. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Re: Throttle Control
Possible the throttle cable length adjustments are too tight. Adjust at the Black Box.

Re: Throttle Control
Yep to all of the above, but there's more to it.
First, make sure your throttle is closing completely inside the carb when pedal is released. To check it, disconect the linkage from the throttle arm, adjust the throttle stop screw out until the throttle plate closes 100% in the carb, then screw back in until it just touches the arm. Reconnect the linkage and adjust to keep throttle closed when off. Next, in the black box, adjust the cable and microswitches so the starter engages just as you push the pedal. Very important that the throttle on the carb does not start to open until after the starter engages. |

Re: Throttle Control
Yep, cable adjustment. 9 times out of 10 when people speed up these vehicles by adjusting the cable they end up going too far and lose their low speed. This happens because it gets so tight that the butterfly on the carb starts to open before the micro closes and gets the starter running. Once it starts, it's revving.
