Re: Fuel Pump?
Two thing blacken a plug, running rich and burning oil. If you do not have an oil consumption issue I would say it is running rich. Do you smell gas at any time while driving?

Re: Fuel Pump?
yes I can smell gas at times. Does not seem to be all the time tho. we were out last night with a new plug in it and my buddy said he saw some smoke coming from the cart which would indicate burning oil. I followed the cart for a few holes and saw no smoke. Not sure if either the gas smell or smoke out of exaust could happen periodically or not. I would assume if it's burning oil you would see it all the time.
Thanks for all the replies |

Re: Fuel Pump?
Check air box completely for any signs of dirt dobbers, they are known to cause a air intake problem.

Re: Fuel Pump?
took it off and apart and cleaned the entire thing with water and a rag, other than the filter obviously, Is there an ajustment on the carb to allow more air? seems to started happening after I changed the carb, altho the old plug that was in there ran for a couple of months before this started happening. will check agian to see if filter is seated proper but i'm sure it is as I know that could be a prob from earlier in this thread

Re: Fuel Pump?
There is a chance you have a little junk in the carb inlet seat.
This can happen when installing a new carb, handling the fuel lines breaks the crud loose. Also try adjusting the idle screw. |
