Default 1985 Club car, I Blew it..........up

The connecting rod and the piston decided to break up. It appears that the rest of the connecting rod and the piston are now wedged into the head, while the crank appears to have some minor dents and dings from the connecting rod pieces that now rest in the bottom of the crankcase. Can you guys help me with some options? Can it be machined and rebuilt or am I stuck looking for a new 341?

Post some pictures of the damage so we can see just how bad it is. If you end up able to rebuild the engine a rebuild kit will cost around $500 or so. It comes with the crank, rod, piston and rings, bearings, gaskets, etc... You can go up to a .050 bore on the cylinder. If the head is usable and your engine case is ok everything else is replaceable. Also need to see if the balancer shaft and cam are ok.

The piston seems to be firmly wedged into the head, I wasn't able to get it out last night but I didn't get much time to work on it.

The crank looks to be junk, so in my opinion you're looking at a rebuild kit at least to get this thing back going. Hopefully you are able to get the piston out of the head and the cylinder isn't screwed.

IWhat indicators point to the crank being junk? I found some used parts here locally and should be able to piece it back together for a lot cheaper. I am going to check out the piston when I get home today, keeping my fingers crossed

The grooves around the journal tell me that if nothing else it is worn and will probably have slop even if you put a new rod on it. Maybe not though. I have a manual and can give you the specs if you need them.

Don't forget to check those plastic gears on the cam and balancer for damage.
