Can't Creep
I have recently purchased a 96 model and I was hoping to ease through the woods. Right now, the throttle is real touchy and jerky. Is there anything that I could do to adjust the throttle so I can go real slow when I want. And of course, fast when I want. Pics are great if possible.

Re: Can't Creep
Try adjusting some slack into the throttle cable.

Re: Can't Creep
It sounds as though the throttle is opening a little to much before the start microswitch makes contact. The cable and switch need to be in sync with each other. With the ignition off or the cart in maintenance mode you will see the action of the switch in the black box by the battery when you press the pedal. The cable that operates the cam and (hence) the switches can be adjusted tighter to actuate the switch faster. Just a little at a time until you achieve a nice smooth transition. To tight and the cart wont shut off.

Re: Can't Creep
My guess is the accelerator adjustment in the box with the micros (under drivers side seat) is adjusted way out. People seem to do this tinking it makes it faster. In reality, it's just opening the throttle faster. Adjust that back in until you have the full throw of the pedal.

Yes it will Hall, it will allow the the ignition to be enabled at a lowered throttle setting and should (with correct adjustments) let you "creep"very slowly, 2mph or so is in the normal operating range. It will take a little fine tuning but you will get there and have a smooth running cart at the end of it.

Re: Can't Creep
That didnt go over very well. I took a picture of the box with cable coming out of it. I assumed this was what you were talking about. it had a nut on the inside of the box and the outside. I tried tightening and loosening but in the end, it never changed the tightness of the cable that connected to the pie shaped piece of plastic that the cable connects to.
So, I found a tierod under the car that connects the gas pedal to that black box underneath. it connected to a metal rod that goes through the middle of the pie shaped piece in the box. I thought if I were to adjust that i could fix the problem. Instead I broke the bolt with the little ball at the end of it that connects to the tie rod. |
