Re: 1992 club car gas
All good advice Jerry!
Yep... a 92 may need brushes, But, here's the thing... I know DutchMike needs a battery, (I'm not sure if meeks88 does or not) Here's a personal "for instance": During winter, my 07 cart (with the original battery) gets used 3 or 4 times, and it does the same exact thing! But, only because I KNOW my battery is weak, after a few good runs, it gets back up to full charge, and starts as it should! My suggestion is to hook up a 12v car charger, let it sit for a few hours... Put the cart in maintenance mode, and try to start the cart again... with the charger still connected! If it starts easily, you have a weak battery, if not... THEN check into the brushes. my .02 |

Re: 1992 club car gas
sorry I've been out of touch! I have eliminated the battery, and am pretty sure that it isnt the starter... How does one check the micro-switch? thanks all

Re: 1992 club car gas
I will remember that. I always assume the battery is charged but being the spring, it could be low or dead. Thanks Lockman1.
There is 2 micros in the "black box" under the seat. When you press the gas, one removes the ground from the coil to allow it to have spark and the other sends 12v to the selenoid. When the selenoid engages, it sends 12 volts thru the big wire to your starter. Either a micro or selenoid could be bad. But if the belt moves at all, it means it is getting 12 volts and you possibly either have a weak battery or bad starter. Make sure all connections are tight. A bad connection can give same results as a worn starter. If you do not have 12v at that micro, then it could be a key switch or that wiring. With out being right there to check it, these things are just a guide to go by. |

Re: 1992 club car gas
Just replace the brushes anyway and eliminate another potential headache. They are only $8.00 a set and will take under an hour to fit them.
