2006 ezgo txt stock harness....what are these wires?

No, after looking at the wiring diagram I think one of the previous posters is correct.

The red and brown wires, at the front, should connect to black and white wires that are your brake switch.

The yellow and black, in the battery compartment, are definitely your horn, and should lead to the other two wires, at the front, which would connect to your horn switch.

Take a look at the wiring diagram that JohnnieB posted, it will give you all the answers.

ok mates here some initial findings... between the green wire at the fuse terminal and the blue wire (bottom of the three) I get a 12v current when i turn the switch to the lights position. but the other two wires give me nothing....

ok, another update, I tested the brown and red upfront and they had a 12v current so i connected those two (since this cart doesnt have blinkers) and now the red wire (the top of the three) at the fuse box has voltage. still no lights. the middle wire still has no juice...

UPDATE: after connecting those front wires and cleaning the fuse post.....the rear tail lights came on. but they stay on whether i turn the key on or off lol

That's because you shorted out the brake switch. It's like constantly stepping on the brakes.

is the middle wire of the three the front light?

According to the wiring diagram the Orange/white is for the horn (middle), the Red (top) is the brakes and the blue/white (bottom) are the front and rear lights. You first need a fuse at each position that has a wire or you need to move the blue/white to the top so it makes contact across the fuse to test the lights out.
