Default Hot Starter

My neighbor has a 2007 DS and recently had to install a new starter/generator. She replaced it with an OEM Club Car part. Now the cart will not start after driving for short periods of time. The starter is extremly hot to the touch and takes quite a while to cool down. What could be causing the starter to get so hot while driving? It is the correct starter and wired correctly. She has gone through 2 "cheap" starters for the same problem and recently installed theOEM Club Car part. It is doing the same thing. Once it cools it starts fine. When hot it tries to start but the pulley turns 1/4 turn. Any ideas on what would make the starter heat up like this?

If she has went through three starters it is not the starter brushes I'd be checking all the wiring it sounds like a wire is connected wrong. How ever sense it has been running and over heating this starter you will need to check it out after finding the bad wire.
