Yamaha Electric Cart Cuts off when Accelrator is pressed
Hey guys hope you can help me out here, Im a mechanic with limited knowledge on golf carts. I have a 48 Volt YDRE 2010 Yamaha and i have a problem with my cart, it seems to work i put my forward/reverse switch on reverse and makes it buzzing noise. but everytime i depress on the accelrator and something cuts off the entire system. I believed it was the solenoid but after changing it out it seems to do the same. Perhaps its the controller? I am not to sure but want to make sure if it is or not. Any help or tips would be narly and greatly appreciated.

Re: Yamaha Electric Cart Cuts off when Accelrator is pressed
I have a 2009 Drive and the exact same thing was happening. It turned out to be a faulty "tow/run" switch. For whatever reason, the switch was tripping and the cart would enter "tow" mode when I hit the pedal. Changed out the switch (very cheap - but get a switch that can handle 48V) and I have not had a problem since.
I hope this is your problem - it was a super easy/cheap fix! |

Most common cause for this is a bad battery or low battery voltage...you will need to get a reading from each battery under a load...

Re: Yamaha Electric Cart Cuts off when Accelrator is pressed
i can tell you after having 6 2009 ydre golf carts batteries may be considered a common cause, but it is not the only cause as i have 2 carts with this issue put the batteries from one into another cart that had no issues and still no issues after a yr, but the main 2 carts are still doing it. tried cleaning and readjusting the brake/stop switch worked for abit then started doing it again. even had trhe batteries tested at a battery shop
