Place the pushrods on a flat surface(like glass) and roll them. That will tell you if they are bent. Make sure you are on the low part of the cam lobe when you adjust each valve.
While you have the motor apart, take a pushrod and place it into the engine where it goes(on top of the tappet). Turn the crank by hand and make sure the pushrod goes up and down as you turn the crank. Check both of them. This will tell you that the cam is turning.
When you reassemble, make sure that the pushrods are properly seated into the lifter(tappet) and the rocker.

The pushrods should each sit into a ball socket in the top of the lifter.

Is the head seated all the way on the block?
If you shine a flashlight down inside where the pushrods go, are they seated into the socket in the lifter?

The stroke where they don't move. That would be compression/power strokes.

Over 150psi. WOW!

Oh and by the way it is now firing!

Check your PM.

Thank you Sir!!!!!!!!!

I still have to get it all back together properly, I just slapped it back to see if it would fire. I'll test drive it later. I think there may still be some life in this 98'.

Just so you can see what you helped bring back to life...
I'll post driving results in a bit. (I'm real curious to see if I pick up some power. I bet i did)
