WELL I talked to pq and they rick said that the marathon stock series cart motor is 2 hp stock, after they get done with it is gonna be about 4.3 to 4.5hp. so overall its gonna be a increase for me

Cool. So i guess im running the purple marathon motor until i can send the txt one to make it a bandit. By those hp increase numbers, the txt motor should be 8 hp when its a bandit. Lol

The Horsepower an electric motor generates is the product of Torque (ft/lb) and Angular Velocity (RPM), divided by 5252 (a conversion factor used when calculating Hp from ft/lb and RPM).

Therefore an electric motor that generates 21.0 ft/lb of torque at 500 RPM, one that generates 10.5 ft/lb of torque at 1000 RPM, one that generates 5.3 ft/lb of torque at 2000 RPM and one that generates 3.0 ft/lb of torque at 3450 RPM are all 2.0 HP motors, but none of them may be well suited for golf cart applications.

Basically, a high speed motor and a high torque motor could have the same HP, but are two very different animals.

What you want to compare are the Torque/Speed curves for the motors, but I doubt is you will be able to get that information from the motor manufacturer.
