Help with new lights
JUST GOT A NEW SET OF DELUXE TXT LIGHTS. Turn sinals, horn, brake lights, tail and head lights. Followed all the insrtuctions and got it all hooked up. Not much to wire on my end. Just feed the wires thru
channels and then plug to plug. had to put the brake switch at the brake arm under cart. well, everything works great but the brake lights.... instead of the brake lights brightening when you push the brake pedal, they go out. What im saying is.........The brake switch is opposite what it should be. the brake lights are on when the pedal isn't pressed, and they go out when I do press pedal. Anyone know what is going on? I installed the brake switch above the brake arm so that its pressed in when the pedal isn't pushed, and when you push the pedal the switch button releases. just like the diagram. help me ,please help me!! |

Re: Help with new lights
Most, not all, brake light switches have normally open/normally closed contacts to choose from. Sounds like your is wired to the wrong pair. If your switch looks like mine you want the outside terminals and the polarity is important because the tail lights might be LED.

Re: Help with new lights
I didn't change that wiring on brake switch, but mine has the three terminals just like yours, but my red wire is on the middle terminal and my white one is on the right terminal (related to your pic) Should I wire it like yours? thanks

Re: Help with new lights
You are not alone. I have installed many of these light kits and have to correct the wiring often. Glad you got yours working.
