Default ezgo dcs running problem.

i have a 96 ezgo dcs and I am having a problem with it running. I received the cart as payment for a job and it came with out a motor. i bought a brand new motor and put it in the cart and all it would do is creep real slow. the wires also got extremely hot coming from the controller and to the motor. motor is also real hot to touch. now the hottest wire was coming from the negative battery to the controller. i replaced the battery thinking it had a bad cell and we are still to going. long story short i have six new battery in the cart and my battery pack i right at 40 volts so i am good there, but i still am only creeping. i did find out that the if i help the cart to start with it will eventually pick up speed to full speed. i have replaced all the wires on the battery and to the motor. help would be great.

Are you sure you have the correct motor? Can you post motor identification?

Yup - series motor. You have a sepex drive cart. That motor won't work.

Again, it is the wrong motor for your cart. It is a series motor and your cart is a sepex drive. You need a sepex motor. Stop trying to run it = you will smoke it and maybe the controller too.

They did make series carts 1988 to present. Your cart just isn't one of the series drive types.
