Cushman Golfster fuel system question OMC 18 hp
I recently acquired a 1963 Cushman Golfster and have a number of questions as I repair and replace some things.
It has the fuel filter with the return to the tank . The previous owner placed this on the inlet side of the fuel pump. Shouldn’t this be between the fuel pump and the carburetor? Also, it seems to be leaking oil, but the underside is coated with crud it may be gas running through the crud. I need to get all of that cleaned off so I can see what’s going on. It appears to have a new Keihin carb and fuel pump. I got it running after a couple of hours of tinkering. Now for the fine tuning. Thanks. |

That fuel filter should be between the tank and the carb. It's current set up is allowing dirt to make it to that carb which is no bueno.
