Stealth 4x4 Patriot 48V Issues
I am trying to help father in law with problems with Stealth Patriot 48V 4x4.
I have spent a lot of time digging through this forum and found some great info. However I am still not sure what all my problems are. I would like to start by posting some of the info I have collected and see if someone can point me in the right direction. I am new to most of this and not sure on terminology, but hopefully can communicate clearly. My goal is to map out all wiring and make diagrams and learn to understand how all these components work together. FIRST: Problem (Will not move in F or R AT ALL) began a few days after I adjusted the parking brake and the link between the gas pedal. Golf cart drove find a couple days then just quit working all together. I would like to start by confirming that the solenoid is working correctly. It is Albright ClubCar SW80 125P 48V It has audible click when throttle pressed and in F or R. The following are measurements with key on, and in gear with gas pedal o and off VOLTAGE ACROSS MAIN POST: Gas off: 7.34V Gas on: 0.00V VOLTAGE ACROSS SMALLER TERMINALS: Gas off: 0.00V Gas on: 50.4V OHMs ACROSS MAIN POSTS Gas off:0.3 -0.4 Ohms Gas on: OPEN OHMs ACROSS SMALLER TERMINALS: Gas off: 195 Ohms Gas On: OPEN Does this info confirm that my solenoid is or isn't working? If I need a new one, can someone tell me what replacement options there are if I can not find the same one? Is there a way that I can bypass the solenoid to confirm the solenoid is the problem before ordering? Thank you for the help. Hopefully I come out of this learning how to work on these things and end up with some info on Stealths I can share with others. |

Re: Stealth 4x4 Patriot 48V Issues
BamaBrad should be here to help shortly, but meanwhile try putting your + lead from your voltmeter on one side of the solenoid (large post) coming from the battery and the - lead on your main pack negative. You should of course read full pack voltage. Then put + lead on other side and depress the go pedal. Should read full pack voltage.

Thank you for the reply.
MAin pack Voltage = 50.3V + large post on side coming in from + end of battery pack - on main pack negative gas on 50.3V gas off 50.3V + large post on the other side of main solenoid - on main pack negative gas off 43.1V gas on 50.3V 7.17V across large posts with no gas 0.00V across large post with gas on |

Re: Stealth 4x4 Patriot 48V Issues
You probably have a resistor running across your main posts, that would be why you're reading 43.1v pedal up. Those readings say your solenoid is ok.

Rough sketch of my Apache wiring.
Brad has a Patriot and I think he has the MCOR test procedure. |

Re: Stealth 4x4 Patriot 48V Issues
These are basically a Club Car with some of the components being customized. You can look at the back of the FnR lever to see if there is any wear/corrosion/loose wires. Be sure to disconnect main Negative of battery anytime you are working on your cart. But, like Gyro said, double check around what you recently did, could have pulled a wire loose and not known it. Be a good time to clean and retighten all your connections to make sure they are all good. Remember, it's a 15 year old cart, a good cleaning may save you from walking. Let us know what you find.

Re: Stealth 4x4 Patriot 48V Issues
I can not get this to format correctly. please let me know if it is unclear.
QUESTIONS: It appears from this test that my line contactor is bad as it does not close and go to 0.0V when gas on in neutral in first test. Is there another way to test this? What exactly is "line contactor"? is there something else that could cause this test result to fail? TEST 1 Red Lead: Battery B(+) Black LEad: Controller B+ Key ON Pack Voltage 50.0V Gear Selector N F and R GAS OFF 7.07V 7.07V GAS ON 7.07V 0.00V __________________________________________ TEST 2 Red Lead: Battery B(+) Black Lead: Controller M- KEy ON Pack Voltage 50.0V Gear Gas Off Gas ON N 7.86 7.86 F 26.37 49.9 R 26.37 49.9 TEST 3 Red Lead: Pin 3 controller with yellow wire Black Lead: Battery Pack B(-) No gas: 0.14V When slowly increasing gas it will slowly rise until solenoid clicks around 0.55V continue rising until fully pressed. When gas fully pressed: 4.62V |
