I noticed in your picture that the wires are soldered on to the pulsar coil. Maybe they switched them.
Good catch!

First time I saw this post I was thinking it sounds like an ignition timing problem but being completely honest, I don’t have enough experience with these to say anything definitively so I generally stay quiet. But my gut does still say ignition timing problem.

I went to look at the picture after seeing this. The pulser looks awfully melty from being soldered. If they don’t know how to solder very well and overheated the leads enough to melt the plastic on the top of the pulser then there’s a good chance they also overheated what’s inside it as well. Which would cause damage…

Just saying. May need to find a replacement…

I agree it does look beat up and melted. Anyone have a good source for a new part?

$144 at vintage golf cart parts. That's too expensive to be taking a guess. IG22-430

If it's still making half a volt AC, I would think it's still good.

But, electricity does some crazy stuff.

I do agree 150 bones is awfully expensive for a guess, and really it’s just an observation more than anything. I’d personally try and rule everything else out before dropping any $$$.

I apologize I wish I knew more about these old ezgo’s than I do. I’d love to be able to help more. Buy a club car and we’re in business

120-180 ohms is what your pulser is supposed to be. Have you checked the pulser with a meter ? Try swapping wires today and let us know. I had one that someone had crossed the wires four years ago and it would explode when I tried to crank it. So much my dog hit the road as soon as I hit the pedal.
Pulser wires being crossed could be the reason your seal was blown out. Just a thought. Shouldn't be that hard to swap them to try.

I will try to cross the wires this afternoon when I get to the shop. And yes I did check the ohms and it was good. I assumed it was good since it did ohm out within spec

Crossed the wires and that did nothing. Doesn’t even try to fire. I rechecked ohms and it was 150 ish and it’s producing .52 volts a/c

What does your fire look like ? The one I had would explode with pulser wires crossed, loud .
Your spark plug wet ?
It sounds like you have eliminated the pulser because its sending an AC signal to ignitor. It does look ugly though

Have you tried a different plug? It could be losing spark under compression.

I'm still thinking about an air leak.
Rear seal, crank halves, pump mount, or cylinder mount.

Plug is wet. And I have tried a different plug. Same results. And if the pto seal was bad wouldn’t it loose pulse to the fuel pump? It pumps strong.
