When I got my '81 G1 I took the bag holders and basket out to put a bench seat in back and lost ALL stability for my roof. I ended up bolting a piece of plywood on the back supports. |

Re: Yamaha G1 owners club-post here
Hi, I own a harley cart, and just got a g1 early 80's . Have I'd exact year. It came with a 2 cylinder 2 stroke. I was told it was a artic cat snowmobile motor. I was then told I was crazy, that it wasnt. But it has what's left of a pull start on passenger side of cart. Any I'd help would be great. I do kind of have it running now, but needs new clutch and solenoid. Will be lifting it and adding custom paint and rear seat.

Re: Yamaha G1 owners club-post here
Picked this up a few months ago. Needs clutch work. I already bought some hubcaps and will be building an audio tube soon. I also wanna sand down the wood and stain/seal it up. An led light bar, brake lights and signals and that'll be all.

Blizzrd, like the wood on your cart, adds a nice touch.

Blizzrd, can we see a picture of the back of your cart? I want to see your seat.

Re: Yamaha G1 owners club-post here
Just acquired 79 ?? G1 5 days ago. Needs tons of work but cannot wait to make it happen this winter! Right now it was running and drove it around a bit and then stalled out and will not restart. Cranks fine, let the games begin!

Re: Yamaha G1 owners club-post here
Here's the before and after of my 79 G1. Had to modify just about everything to make it work, but once you're done, it's a really unique buggy. Keep us posted with photos as your project progresses. Remember to have fun!
