Mixing batteries
Apologies if this topic has been flogged, I searched but couldn't find it,
What is tha problem of building say 36v pack with 4 X 6v trogens and 1 X 12v trogen if the amps are compatible? After all they are all in reality 18x2v cells. Or is it more complicated than that? |

It will be hard for you to find a 12v battery with the same AH as a 6v battery, it is more of a physical limitation of the container. The cells are not the same, if You think of the cells as "Cylinders", the 2v indicates the height of the cell and the AH the diameter. They take different amounts of energy to re-charge, so unless You have a bank charger to charge them individually, You will under-charge some and over-charge others. Also, the SOC of the entire pack is equal to the battery with lowest SOC. |
