Those speeds are normal for that vehicle.

Dave,
Thank you.

I was surprised to see his car lose that much speed on the little grade in our neighborhood. He has stock tires, and brand new Trojan batteries.

I haven't checked it lately but I don't think my 2006 DS loses that big a percentage even with 23" tires.

Based on what I read on the Forum his car is on speed code 2. Is one of those speed magnets worth the money?

Thanks again,
George

His 1995 cart is not programmable. It's a "Series" cart and there are no codes to program. The only way to get more speed out of that cart is to upgrade the motor and/or controller.

Dave,
Thank you that makes the decision for him easy, LOL.

One more question on that cart, what are the symptoms of a bad Pot Box?? I am afraid we might be messing with it on and off forever, but I can't convince him to do the MCOR upgrade when it seems to be running ok.

Thanks again,
George

Fluctuations in throttle control, or not being able to achieve full throttle. Full throttle can be determined by testing the ohms at the controller. 5k-0 is the range of the pot-box. If it's close to zero at full throttle it's working.

Dave,
Thank you, I'll keep my fingers crossed for now, it still seems to be operating as it is supposed too.
