Default New to me precedent charging question

Hey gang, my new to me cart is awesome but one question. When i plugged it in to charge it showed 15 amps on the charger which is fine but the little orange battery light on the cart flicked on and off a couple of times in the first 10 min or so of the charge? Is this normal?

What is the year and the first 2 letters of the serial number? What kind of charger do you have? Had the run/tow switch been flipped right before the charge? Did the charger come on initially and then shut off and restart? My light flashes if the run/tow switch is flipped before the charge. It's probably ok. I'm sure someone else will chime in.

PH are the first two letters in the serial number. It's a Club Car charger.

That is an Excel series cart. Assuming everything is as it should be, after cart usage when the charger is plugged in, it should go to 15 amps or so for about 5 or 10 seconds then cut off. After about 5 seconds it will restart automatically and return to the 15 amp range and then remain on until the batteries are charged. As the charging cycle progresses the amp draw will drop down to about 6 or so. If you've flipped the run/tow switch it may be causing the light to flash. Give it a try as I described and see if it continues.

It's not uncommon for the light to come on when the charger turns off during the charge cycle. The charger will turn off several times during the charge cycle and turn back on again after a few seconds. As soon as it turns back on the light will turn off. Let the charger finish and shut down completely and the light should not be on.
