Default Regen 1 powerdrive2 charging problem

I'm working on a regen 1 cart 48v with the powerdrive 2 charger that is not charging on it's own. I can bypass ac wires on the relay in the charger and it will charge. I've tried a new relay, no change. I have pack voltage between the 2 dc wires at the charger relay. I can take the relay and run a jumper from pack + and pack- and it will click. I also tried bypassing the obc by running a jumper wire from pack- to the black wire on the fuse at the back of the charge receptacle, still no click on the relay. All fuses check good, and have voltage from the pack inside the charger which tells me all the wires and connections are good. What else can I check? Any other ways to check the obc other than the jumper from pack- to the charge receptacle?

Anyone? I know the OBC controls the relay in the charger, but how? I'm getting 50v between the blue and white wire on top of the relay, but no click. I can take the same relay and jumpers from the battery pack+&- and the relay will click. I'm leaning towards an OBC problem, but would like to know for sure. Any ideas?

Try an OBC reset first...remove the main pack negative cable for 10 minutes and then re-install. This resets the OBC and may solve your problem.😎

If the OBC reset does not work, disconnect the "sense" and run a wire from the sense pin directly to pack negative.

The transistor inside the OBC that activates the charger relay may be defective and not allowing enough current to flow in order to activate the relay.

Thank y'all! I did the reset. I didn't actually time it, but I thought it was at least 10 minutes. Sergio, I will try that when I get home this afternoon. I did it to the negative lead at the fuse, but not the sense wire.

Sergio hit the nail on the head. The OBC probably isn't providing enough current to energize the charger relay. I'll give you the correct OBC part number if you'll provide me with a serial number for the vehicle.

Sergio you are truly a wizard! That did the trick! Will the cart charge normally with that jumper in place? Tahoe, the serial plate is missing, but it is the regen 1 with the 2 solenoid, one on each side with the driver's side having the large coil on it and what appears to be a GE control.

It's not a Regen 1. It's a Regen 2. The OBC part number is AM1229201.

oh ok thanks! I thought the regen 2 had both the solenoids on the passengers side. I guess I was thinking backwards. I need to find out from the owner what they want to do and I'll get with you Tahoe.
