Battery guage
This is my first electric cart. It is a 2016 president. It has the dummy light for the batteries. What type of guage do you recommend? Would be nice to know the battery levels
Thanks! |

Digital Voltage Meter... Connect straight to the batteries, leave on 24/7

Good looking cart. Put some Gold trim and you have a Winner!!
And scottyb and Carts Unlimited has some of the best DVM you can buy. Grab one from his site. |

Re: Battery guage
If you really want the best look at the Victron BMV-700 series, they are terrific. I recommend the BMV-712 because it has the inbuilt bluetooth which means you can monitor your batteries on your phone. It also has a secondary input with which you can monitor the mid-point of the pack - that will alert you if an individual battery is going bad before it is too late to rectify.
They are not cheap but are really inexpensive insurance for your expensive battery pack. NoleFan4Ever put me onto them and I'm very glad he did. |

Re: Battery guage
It is a standard 2" gauge just like other automotive gauges. I used a hole-saw and placed it on the left side of my dash. Looks like a factory install.

Re: Battery guage
Here's mine (sorry for the quality of the photo). As you can see from the voltage this was taken while the cart was on the charger. Mine is actually a BMV-702 with the optional bluetooth dongle. The BMV-712 has that dongle built into the meter.
This is a serious meter which takes a bit of installation. It uses a 500A shunt at the batteries. The second photo shows my installation of the shunt. As Nole said, it's the best of the best. |
