Default New Batteries - “Spitting”?

First time replacing batteries for me and I notice that the batteries seem to spit around the fill holes. The caps are on tight but I’ve noticed water sitting on top of them.

My old batteries which were shot had all kinds of corrosion issues and I had to constantly wash off the aluminum battery tray with baking soda/water mixture due to the buildup. I’m trying to not have that happen with brand new batteries and a new tray.

Thoughts?

So biggest mistake I see with new batteries, is people fill the battery water right away.
I tell my customers to check the water level once a month, but that doesn't mean you have to add water. Why? Because I want the batteries to get broken in. New batteries take longer to charge and may be on the charger for 12-16 hours. If they are over filled, or filled to the high level, they will boil out. Intentionally leave the water level 1/4 inch from the high level and you will never have an issue

Are you charging them with the caps off?

What charger do you have?
Some release of battery acid is normal, especially during the initial break in. That normally will subside after the batteries have 10-20 cycles.
If the charger or OBC is not working properly it can cause overcharging which can make the batteries bubble more than normal.

Thanks. I haven’t filled them. Came this way from factory. They have about 15 charge cycles on them with a Lester Summit II

Brand new Lester Summit II. OBC removed. Only 15 charge cycles and I haven’t added any water.

Yes well I assume so. I picked it from within the Lester app on my phone.
