Default Looking for a Cart - 2004 Precedent Price Point

Came across a 2004 Precedent for sale locally listed at $3K. Listing indicates the following:

2019 Wheels & Tires
2019 JL Audio – Bluetooth system
2019 LED lights – front and rear
Speed Code Upgrade ...19-20 MPH
2017 Trojan BATTERIES
Club Car Battery Charger

Cart looks very clean.

Does this seem to be in the ballpark regarding price and is there anything I should be concerned about if I purchase a little older cart like this?

This would be my first cart - I have read alot on the forums and have tried to educate myself as best as I can but clearly I don't know about the improvements that have been made over the years. Visually, this 2004 Precedent does not look much different than say a 2017 precedent but I am sure that multiple changes have been made over the years.

Where you live will affect the price. Down in south Florida, prices are a bit inflated these days, and you can't touch a nice cart for under 1500 unless you get lucky, and then you have beat all the flippers to the punch. If it means anything, I paid 3k for my 2014 Precedent with OEM aluminum wheels, new tires, late '18 Crown batteries, 27mph, 48v, with enclosure, windshield, accessory tray and ostrich seats. I felt it was a great deal and jumped on it, but a year ago I could have gotten a really nice older cart for less. Keep in mind with carts, age isn't as important as with a car. Yes, older (early 90s) may have low technology, but a 2004 isn't really that old.

Take my advice with a grain of salt...I'm brand new to this.

2004 , doesnt that have 4 - 12 volts batteries . something to consider when looking at the price . I do to much daily riding not to convert to 6 - 8 volts and would have factor that cost into the price

Swan, what's the run time difference between the two different setups?

Thanks for the replies all - just went and looked at the cart and actually agreed to purchase for $2700.

Cart is in excellent shape. Owner purchased new in 2005 so it has not been a fleet cart.

Serial number seems to suggest that it is a 2005 model as the first 4 digits are PQ05.

Cart ran strong in the test drive, everything seemed to operate as it should.

Yes, it did have 4 12v batteries that were 3 years old. Looks like I will need to do some research into conversion to 6 8v.

BTW - I am in the Dallas Ft. Worth area and I don't know about historical cart prices but over the last 3 weeks it has been quite difficult to find anything worth looking at for less than $3500 to roughly $5000 or so.

Would love to know this answer as well.

I will search the forum to see if I can understand what the swap would look like.

I would assume that it would make sense to run the batteries as is until it is time for replacement and then convert from the 4 12v setup to 6x8v setup.
