Default 2008.5 Precedent Dies at 1/2 throttle

I've got a 2008.5 Precedent that dies any time I get passed 1/2 throttle. I can let off the pedal and it's back in action. I've replaced the mcor and speed sensor with no change. Any ideas what the problem could be? Im new to club cars so I have no idea which way to go at this point.

Did you inspect the magnet for cracks or breaks when you replaced the sensor? I've never found a bad sensor, but replaced many broken magnets.

Did I do something wrong to have my post removed?

I actually discovered this problem when i was changing the magnet out for a speed magnet. The previous owner had rigged up a pedal stop, when i removed that I found out the cart will die past 1/2 throttle. I've done some research and I believe I have an IQ cart with an Excel controller. Cart serial number: PQ0825-916589, Curtis Controller Number: 1515-5201. Could this be causing my issue? It runs great until I go past that certain point on the go pedal.

This is not an Excel cart, PQ08 tells you it is IQ cart. But your controller number indicates that it is an Excel controller. I'm pretty sure that controller number should be 1510A-5250 for that cart.

I spoke with David Hicks on this. The problem caused when Excel replaces an IQ controller is the cart dies at half throttle. Attached is a document, provided by David at Revolution Golf Cars, for the conversion. You can check out this doc and see if the wiring conversion has been done at controller connector and also at the pedal assy.

You can bypass having to do this conversion work by ordering an XCT400 from David and get the speed you are looking for. David said Alltrax is about 2-4 weeks shipping due to Covid and the Oregon fires.

Or you can replace it with a used 1510 and use the speed magnet for a little extra speed. Torque is still an issue with 1510.

You can find all of that stuff at Mousers Electronics. Per David note to me, The resistors mentioned in the attachment are valued at 1/2-watt, 463 ohm. 470 will work if you can't find the 463. Those are standard 3 pin Deutsch connectors if you want to make your own conversion harness.

Thank you so much for the help. I actually emailed David as well and he told me the same thing. While it sucks I'm relieved to have the answer and a solid path forward. Once again I really appreciate all of your help.

Did you ask David if he had a used controller for you. He may be willing to make a swap deal with you and you wouldn't need to make any changes to the wiring. Remember, if you make all of those changes to make the Excel controller compatible, the speed magnet will not help you like it would with the original. It doesn't work with the Excel controllers. Call David and see what you can work out with him.
