My only issue with the 480 amp controller - not sure if it is enough

Sometimes I'll get in a bind and will have to get off the gas because the wheels just stop - anyone running 15:1 gears for the torque?

Did the speed calculator. Right now it figures me at:

3724rpm, 12.44 gears, 22" tires = 19.6mph - almost dead on what I get

If I went 15:1, then this drops to:

3724rpm, 15:1 gears, 22" tires = 16.2mph

I could live with that until I get the PQ purple dust on the motor but what kind of torque increase am I looking at real world?

I thought about doing the gears as well. I have done themon trucks, but never a cart. I am not sure how much more torque it would be. Maybe someone can enlighten us. The gears are not expensive and if it gives a good bit of torque I would definitley do it.

About the contoller, Mine is believed to have had a problem from the start and now Logisystems is no longer. When I first connected everything, in reverse my cart would kind of buck when throttle was applied. It can't bak over a 4" block without getting a running start. It seems that the contoller justs starts and stops rapidly. It won't build up any power. I swapped the 3 and 9 o'clock wires on the F/R and it did the same thing forwards. I am shipping the contoller to ScottyB on the Aug. 30 sohe can test it on hs cart. We think it is faulty. Hello 700 AMP FSIP.

Thanks, the only reason I got them is because they were $45 a piece with free shipping. Couldn't beat the price. I believe they are discontinued.

Never went in deep enough to find out. It started out rough. Well it is still rough, but it is a hunting and trail riding machine. No need to make it pretty. Working on custom brush guard and fender flares.

Madoc, I need that and a motor. It's just so expensive. Need to make a little overtime at work for the upgrades.
