battery light flishing on EZ-GO TXTPDS
Hi,
I'm new to the forum, so please be gentle ;) My dad purchased a refurbished 2006 EZ-GO TXTPDS (27647-GO1) last year. The charge indicator is a 36V with 10 red bars to indicate the amount of charge the cart has. Yesterday the cart was on the second to bottom bar and flashing red. We hooked it up to the charger last night and again this morning, but it still on the second to the bottom bar and flashing. I read about resetting the OBC by performing the following: "Put in maint. mode, disconect batteries, put in reverse till buzzer stops, then hook everything back up and see what happens." Is that what I should do for this particular EZ-GO model? Thanks for all help Mike |

Those SOC meters are very inactivate and you have to manually reset them all the time. With that cart I do not recommend running the battery pack that low. Get with Scotty at carts unlimited and get one of his battery meters.

Re: battery light flishing on EZ-GO TXTPDS
Ezgo carts do not have an OBC.
You must leave the charger on until it finishes it's charging cycle by itself (it could take up to 16 hours). The voltage that the charger takes the battery pack to on completion will reset the SOC meter automatically. Built in voltmeters for your cart are a nice touch if you know how to interpret them and are available from $15 to $50 depending on what your criteria is. Contrary to some thoughts, the State of Charge meter is an ideal way for the common person to understand how much charge is in the batteries. It reads like a gas gauge in a car, each bar is approximately 8% of your battery charge. It is not advisable to take the batteries as low as the second bar and the batteries should be charged each time you drive the cart for more than 30 minutes. |
