Default 96 ezgo 36v dcs

so i bought this cart as a quick fix and slowly realized that wasnt the case. i bought brand new batteries, controller, solenoid and then bought a running motor off a running cart. installed it all and it doesnt run.

when i press the gas pedal i hear the solenoid click but nothing happens besides that. it almost sounded like there was a light clicking noise coming from the motor.

the only thing i see that im not sure if it has anything to do with it is a small red wire not hooked up to anything coming out of the controller. a small green with black stripe not hooked up to anything coming out of the controller. and the resistor from the big terminals of the solenoid isnt connected.

could any of those wires cause it not to run?

im stumped and broke. wish i would have just bought a running cart...

Hey Burley, you are going to need a digital volt/ohm meter and you need to follow this troubleshooting guide.

My controller is a Curtis 1206 and it has a 5 pin plug that uses 4 leads. The red wire on mine is switched B+. Mine does not have a green/black wire. It has white-black-orange-red. The white and black are to the ITS. The red is power, and the orange is half speed reverse. Hope this helps.

On the home page click on " Electric E-Z-GO " and there are stickys that will give you wiring schematics! They are a big help! :)

Looked over the cart with diagrams and troubleshooting guide. Everything checked out and power is getting back to the motor but it still isn't moving. Tried 3 different motors. So either all 3the motors are bad or I have an underlying problem...

In a DCS cart it is likely the problem is controller failure.

Well, it shouldn't be bad but, it can happen.
Where are you getting the motors?
Can you test one of them?
It would be good to know if the motors are good.
Have you followed the DCS troubleshooting guide or are you just throwing parts at it?
Maybe it is a problem in the throttle input signal?

Connect S1 to A1
Connect S2 to A2.
12v positive to S1-A1
12v negative to S2-A2
The motor should run.
