The bypass is cool, I suggest it in my conversion kit wiring diagram for guys who are having F&R micro issues.... I figured it would work well for you. Your original problem could have been a bad or mis wired MS at the F&R Likely the one for forward(if you care to fix it) But lots of carts including my test cart has been run by passing the F&R micros for months and months without issue due to the MS on the pot. Later

Thumbs up Re: 94 ez-go troubleshooting....

The micro's are nothing more than a safety issue that the fed's put on the cart company. You don't need any of them if you don't mind having power to the controller as soon as you turn the key on. The reverse micro's are also a fed regulation for backing up speed just like the beeper's. It's all in being safe and no law suits!
I ran the mud buggie like this for years and had full speed reverse.

Actually this will not turn the controller on with the key? Wired correctly the solenoid is activated and the controller is turned on with the same pot MS.

The bypass is straight off the key switch. If you don't turn on the key nothing works. If the one micro fail's in the closed position the cart is on as soon as you turn the switch on. It's activated by the key being turned on. Just as the solenoid is. This is why the Fed's make the companys put all those micro's in the system.

Seriously!?
How many micros switches have you found failed in the closed position? I have found zero.
How many micro switches have you seen blown by a short? I have found countless MS blown in the open position. And countless more simply worn-out which failed to connect = open position.
I don't consider this unsafe even for grandma.
But thank you for your concern.
