Default How wide of a stance after lift kit on club car ds

I recently bought a '94 CC DS. After reading enough posts on here I am ready to start upgrading and modifying. Current its all stock 36V.
I want to put an A-Arm lift kit on it but I might have a slight issue.
I have to drive my cart through a gate that is attached to a short concrete wall (on both sides of gate) that has the gate opening at 48.5 inches. This is to get it to my back yard where I park it. When I drive my cart through I probably only have like 2.5" on each side right now.
If I get the lift and use a narrow tire will I still be too far out to fit through my gate?

My lifted ds would not go through my standard size gate on my wood 6' privacy fence. Not sure of the size but I could measure tonight

What size lift and tires are you looking at?

Be careful with a lifted golf cart, they become very tipsy, I can easily get mine on 2 wheels at low speeds (10-15mph) and my track is 51" which is about 10" wider than stock, before the lift it was almost impossible to tip.

It also depends on how much lift you want. Just a couple of inches should be fine. 6" with 22-23" tires and a narrow track is dangerous.

Try to match the track increase with the lift increase.

In my case 6" lift with 22s = 8" of total lift over stock. My track increased about 10". This also gives the cart a proportioned look.

Go with a 2-4" lift with an extra 4- 4.5" track on 20s-22s, this way you'll be stable, look good & be able to squeeze through the gate.

Thank you for the great response. Really put thing in perspective. I'm worried if I get 4" lift ill be wishing I went for 6". I found out for another $150 or so a guy can cut my wall by a foot and I can just get a longer gate. Problem solved. Man golf cart modding can get pricey .

You're welcome!

You figured it out... $150 is chump change when it comes to modding your cart, cut the fence and build the cart the way you want.....

I agree!! Cut the wall and then build a monster, awesome cart!!!! (Jet packs, rocket launchers, stereo speakers bigger than the cart itself, etc!!!!

My ez go has a 6" lift with 23" tires and is very stable even at 18 mph. If the cart feels tipsy there's probably a problem with the install or the tires are too narrow.

Do the lift and tires and then see how wide it is. Maybe you can put the 150$ in the cart build.
