Default upgrade for a robins 244cc

What are my options to upgrade an older EZ GO with a robins 244cc engine, the model number, at least what I can read on the sticker is EC25-something. I would like to get a newer motor with a little more power. not sure if there is any options, as I am new to the golf cart world, any ways any help would be much appreciated.

There were two different 2 strokes. The 2pg has the clutches going side to side. The 3pg has the clutches going front to back. Both of them ran the engine backwards to make the cart go in reverse. They did not have the reversible rear end like the 4 strokes do.

If you change the engine, you will lose reverse.

If your governor is still hooked up, you can remove that and go from 12 mph to 18 mph with no mods on stock 18 inch tires.

I wouldn't remove the air filter but I would remove the governor, it'll make a big difference

Why not? Who doesn’t love an engine full of dirt and sand?
