Messed up shocks... Lifted or not lifted?
thanks to a couple suggestion on this forum I now have a running 1989 Marathon. It starts and goes without any issues (knock on wood). All I have left to fix are new brake pads and then shocks. The guy we got it from said that it was lifted and it looks like it may be based on clearance of the tires. Of course he said it would go almost 30 mph too...
There is only the springs in the back and it looks like a hacked mounting job on the top front. Can anyone help me out here with getting the correct shocks. I read on another post that Monroe 32207 should work and I think it will the spring that is on there right now is right at 14" but the distance between the mounting centers was only like 13.5" if I remember. |

Re: Messed up shocks... Lifted or not lifted?
This is the post I used for a guide installing my shocks.
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-e...de-simple.html This will work for your back ones seeing it looks like there is a lift under the spring. It doesn't look like the front has any type of lift to it??? If that's the case the monroe's won't work, they will be 4" to long. |
