2013 EZGO options
I have a 2013 EZGO TXT with the 14hp Kawasaki and all the options I see for engine upgrades are for driver side clutches, mine has passenger side. Is there a swap out there that will work with my drivetrain or, is it possible to put a transmission and axle from a pre 09 TXT so that clutches are on the drivers side making the Honda and clones possible? Thanks!

Re: 2013 EZGO options
Just went through a post that RJWenter has up on his VC Swap and in looking at his pics it appears there is no difference in our frames or rear leafs so I think I can simply switch my rear end with one from an older cart and have the VC kit fit right up. Am I missing something?

Re: 2013 EZGO options
Man if the frames are identical, yeah you're in business. A used swingarm, axle, clutches should run you $500 if you get lucky. I've seen Vegas Carts sell them with engines all together for $799 including brake drums and cables. It's hard to find the ezgo ME29 rear axles anymore.
So, does your engine spin counter clockwise or clockwise? If it spins counter clockwise, you can use a VC460 or VC625 or Vanguard engine. As far as parts for the install go....that might be the issue. |

Re: 2013 EZGO options
Old thread but more questions. I need to do something about the power for sure, since stretching the cart when fully loaded it struggles way more than pre-stretch to 6 seater. I bet I lost 5 mph top speed and climbing medium grades is almost too much even with the Gboost components. Stock is 14ish hp so will a 420 be that much better or would it be worth going the 670 route? I plan on making the stock cradle work and found 670 engine mounts online that I can fab up to the stock set up. Switch the motor around and it should still work just the belt will be pulled up the clutch instead of down (I believe) stock engine is clockwise rotation, but not sure what affect that will have on clutch performance. I know a comet clutch will be needed and likely wiring, ignition, etc....so you think 670 out of the box or will a 420 pull the big heavy cart, still put me at 30mph and pull grades better than stock?

Re: 2013 EZGO options
found an old post from 08 about using high speed gears and using reverse as forward gear and forward as reverse. Guess that is what I'll have to do in order to use a counter clockwise motor on the passenger side so I don't have to switch out the rear axle and motor cradle. Now 420 or 670. Need gobs of torque but happy with 30-35 for top speed.

Re: 2013 EZGO options
The 670 would be a better choice for a heavy cart, much smoother torque curve.

Cool, thank you! I'll get started once I bring the cart home from the beach.

I agree with the Vtwin, just a totally different animal IMO.
