Default Ezgo 3pg won’t build compression driving me crazy!!!

I rebuilt my 1990 Ezgo 3pg 2stroke. New seals, piston, rings. Ran great for a couple weeks then won’t start. Compression is 60psi. Took it back apart. Because I had honed the cylinder the first time & the ring gap was at the end of spec I bought a new head, piston & rings. Assemble, install. No start!!! 75 psi of compression 😡😡 Remove engine. This time I built covers for intake & exhaust plumbed compressed air to pulse line fitting. Charge engine with 40psi air. Big leak at Reed valve seals. I don’t know if this is an issue because obviously there’s vacuum at Reed valve when engine is running. I am at a brick wall! Feel like I’ve done everything!!! I’ll take any advice please!!!!

The reed valves need to allow air/fuel to enter the crankcase when the piston is on the up stroke. It then need to close and seal the crankcase when the piston is on the down stroke to allow pressure to build in the crankcase so that when the transfer port opens near the bottom of stroke, air/fuel will have reason to flow into the cylinder.

If the reeds are leaking, and you can't build any crankcase pressure, the mixture won't transfer to the cylinder, and so it won't run.

Reeds on a 2 stroke are like valves on a 4 cycle engine.

In either case if they’re bad the engine isn’t gonna run.

If the reed cage is cracked, good luck. Those are nearly impossible to find and when you do they’re $$$$$.

If it’s just the petals Search around in here. I’ve seen posts where to locate aftermarket petals and install them in your existing cage.
