Default Milling Cylinder Head

Hello, I am rebuilding my 95 Yamaha G-9 4 strk and am curious about raising the compression slightly. I am installing the 50mm piston, as well as complete valve job, including porting and polishing the head. Does anyone have a tried and true spec. as to how much I can successfully machine off the cylinder head, without causing any damage. Thanks Joe
