Brake issue
Hey all was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. For some reason my brake pedal isn't returnin all the way. It only comes back about an inch or so and to get it to return all the way I have to manually pull it up. Can anyone please tell me which spring would need attention and what would be the easiest way to correct the problem? I've messed with the large spring that connects to the couple to the two brake cables but I'm finding that that spring only affects pedal resistance. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Re: Brake issue
There should be a torsion spring on the rod that the pedal rotates on...follow that single cable from where it connects to the two cables back up to where it attaches to the pedal...that rod should have a spring on it. Chances are it gave up the ghost.

Re: Brake issue
Okay I see what your sayin. Just went out and looked at it and see a spring at the base of the pedal arm where it meets the brake linkage. Thanks I'll replace it and see what happens

Re: Brake issue
If you look at the one you take off you will probably be able see where the "leg" that keeps tension on the pedal snapped off.

Re: Brake issue
I have 3 carts in righ tnow with brake pedal issues. All of them are rusted pretty badly. I have soaked 2 of them in pb blaster over the last 2 days and they work perfect. the 3rd one is history since the frame is done for.
Give your a good bath of pb blaster and let it sit. few minutes later go press on the pedal. after a few movements it might loosen up without you turning a wrench. |
