Re: valve seals
It just prys off with a screwdriver. They only came with one on the intake , but the head is machined for both intake and exhaust. I install them on both when doing a rebuild. Good luck on your rebuild.

Do you run into the valve overheating or freezing? We could not put seals on the exhausts of old small block Fords. |

Re: valve seals
Never found that problem DOOM's. I've only rebuilt 1 Ford engine (the 390 ci in the 67 Ranchero build),so I'm no expert. Guess I never thought about it much, but figured if it was machined for it, install one to be safe. Don't remember it ever causing a (future) failure because of it.

Re: valve seals
Hi everyone took the head to a machine shop today got the valves reseated. I was talking to the gentlemen he was saying the intake valve was really bad and its not a good idea to put two valve seals and he also honed the piston walls for me, just waiting for parts. thanks
