1982 G1 Top End options
I know this is apparently a one off year but how come nobody has a top end kit for this year? Can it be converted to the 83 and up cyclinder with maybe changing a few more parts?
Options? Thanks |

Re: 1982 G1 Top End options
Yes you can change to a J10 or J24 cylinder, but you'd need a cylindre/head/reed assy/manifold and a carberator. Better bet would be to have the J17 cylinder bored and new ozersized piston and rings

Re: 1982 G1 Top End options
Site sponsors should be able to supply aftermarket piston/rings/pin/clips/upper rod bearing and gaskets needed, a Yamaha dealer could get you OEM. You van get 25 or 50 over, just depends how bad the cylinder bore is. Don't forget, when creating new compression, you will most likely need to change those old crank bearings. Good luck
