Re: Cart Cart, 89 Marathon reconstruction
pm sent back with email
i noticed my frame is pretty thick,1x2x 1/8 inch minimum..when seeing others jump these carts, and me knowing a lil about metals and such i cringe when they jump over lil hills the worst part in my cart is the cross member that the swing arm attaches to..its like half full of rust and crap from the 80,s but since i have 3 ft long arms it dont really have no pressure on it so it can wait a while to get replaced.. it must have something to do with how front and rear is set up,,as i would think we would see more carts that just bend or break in half near the floor area i want to beef mine up in that area but not sure its really needed as i dont jump it lol..but it does take a brutal beating in the woods and still amazes me the things i can drive thru/over with just 1 wheel doing all the work |

You may not be getting airborne but i'm sure you'll be working the front when it slams down from all the wheels you'll be doing.

Re: Cart Cart, 89 Marathon reconstruction
I saw an electric three wheeler folded up like a taco. I think a battery was leaking and rotted the frame or something. I imagine it was being jumped and when it folded they just gave up on it.

Been working on the frame this past weekend. Replaced some of the metal and built a new cross member with swing arm mounts. Got it all welded up and started on the sanding process. Might have to buy a media blaster lol.

Yep. Ran a 4-1/2" wire wheel over the rough spots, blew it off with the air hose and went to town with the spray can. Looks much better all one color. Got a little ahead of myself as I still need to fab a battery tray. Then on to the swing arm and engine cradle.
