g2 cutting out
I just purchased a yamaha g2 and it runs really good bur it cuts out at top speed almost like the spark is kicking in and out anyone have any input on this

G2 has a rev limiter built into the ignitor.

Does a G8 have this same limiter? Mine seems to do this same thing.

Not sure on the G8. The G9 does not, and many people swap the G9 ignitor into a G2 to get rid of the limiter.

The rpms are about 3 grand and it has a governer on it so it coups be the ignitor but this is a new problem wasn't always there

Are you sure it's not a fuel issue? Maybe float adjustment?

It could be but it runs great then starts cutting out and its not laying down like a fuel delivery problem its cutting out I heard that a broken clutch eight can cause this
