G22 Shift Handle replacements?
I have a G22 that I managed to snap the handle off the forward / reverse lever last week. I have been looking for a replacement handle... but so far, all I have been able to find is the original equipment replacement made of plastic, which will just snap off again at some point, or that gigantic Jake's shifter thing thats way to over engineered for me, and several hundred bucks.. not my cup of tea.
Do any of you know of a replacement that is made of metal, aluminum or steel, to use? Or even just a coupling that will attach to that spline shaft that I can use to build a shifter handle that I like? Thanks! |

Those are the only things that I know of. You might reposition the stock lever 90* or so to get it out of harms way.

That happened to the people I bought my cart from and they put a Harley shifter on it. I took it off and put the $6 plastic piece on it though because it was rubbing my leg.

Make sure you get genuine Yamaha, not after market stuff. Mine is very well made.
I did drill and thread it cause I kept loosing the wire clip when washing it tho!! |

I have done some aluminum castings with my backyard furnace in the past.. looks like I'm going to have to dust off equipment.
That comment about a harley shifter peg fitting.. thats good info. Thanks.. I'll check that out. |

They must have used vice grips on end of shifter to tighten, then just nut and bolt. It was on there tight. Had to pry off when I was removing rear body.

The chrome plated metal ones are available at GolfCarCatalog website. But i would check the site sponsor websites first.

CGTech, I saw those, but nowhere could I see if it was actually metal, or just chrome plated plastic. If it's actually metal, I'd be into it for 25 bucks..
