Default Field coil stud repair

So I gave my dad my old cart that had sat for two years. O ainted it and dressed it up. He decided to replace all cables. In doing do twisted off the field coil from the motor stud. I have read about soldering it together. Question is do I silver solder , or yse rosin core ?
Next question is how to keep brushes retracted when reassembling ?

Disassemble the motor and replace the stud.

Attached is the brush spring info.

Not sure how to reattach field winding to stud. If there is more then a few milliohms of resistance in the connection, the high current will melt it open.

So the arm is to go Into the endbell then seat brushes then intsall can ? I was assuming arm in can then slide endbell with brushes on. If so how would I then seat the brushes with endbell in place ?

The armature is press fit into the bearing, which is press fit into the end cap, so armature and end cap stay together. You position the springs on the brushes with the armature in place in the end cap, then insert the armature with end cap attached into the motor housing and bolt the end cap to the motor housing.

This is an 87 marathon. It is a ******* and it uses the M22 motor. The end cap was retained with two 1/4 bolts. I removed the bolts and removed the end cap. The end cap slid off and bearing stayed with the arm. I left the arm in the case

I don't know much about the motors used in the split case differential Marathons, but maybe this will help.

You could take it to a motor shop for repair. The field is either welded or silver soldered to the stud.
